Where Premium Meets Purpose
Your clients don't come to Washington to see what's in every guidebook. They come for what only insiders know. Arlington Black Heritage Experiences delivers exactly that, a living, primary-source encounter with 150+ years of Black community brilliance, resistance, and achievement that no other guide in the region can offer.
Wilma Jones, award-winning activist, historian, and author, shares research that traces Black Arlington's story from 1735, when the first enslaved Africans were brought to Abingdon Plantation, through her family's arrival in Cherrydale in the 1880s, their move to Halls Hill after 1900, and four generations of community life that continues today.

From Green Valley to Freedman’s Village at Arlington Cemetery, to the streets of Halls Hill, Black communities built Arlington for over a century, then were systematically erased from its history.
The Halls Hill community started the first all-African American staffed fire station below the Mason-Dixon Line in 1918. On February 2, 1959, four twelve-year-olds, including my brother Michael Jones, desegregated public schools in Virginia.
These are just two of the over 400 stories of Black community, resilience, and excellence that I can bring to the table — literally.
